Specialized Training

One of the really great things about weight lifting besides the obvious health benefits and aesthetics is that you can use weight training to balance out your body. What do I mean by balancing out your body? Well, let's say for example you have a desk job or you find yourself sitting alot during the day, you'll find that your lower back tends to ache in the late afternoon.

If you don't pay attention to the ache you will eventually find that your pelvic girdle is beginning to become misaligned and at that point the pain is terrible. Lifting weights can help to offset the negative effects of sedentary lifestyles by stimulating and working the muscles that so desperately need to be worked.

Let's look at another example. Imagine that a cyclist decides that he needs to develop his chest muscles for the summer time. You'll find that his legs will be incredibly developed compared to his upper body muscles as a result of the sport that he is involved in. Weight training can and will keep his legs in shape and add more muscle should he so choose but it will also allow him to develop his upper torso to match the development of his legs giving him a balanced appearance.

Push ups, running, pull ups and all these other traditional training methods are fantastic for building and developing the muscles of the body but they will never be able to compete with the fantastic results that weight training produces.

Look at your arms or your legs. Is the one slightly bigger than the other? You can remedy that with a specialized weight training programme to balance out the muscles of your body.

Train hard, eat well and rest.
